On November 14, Vietnamese producer Formosa Ha Tinh Steel (FHS) announced new local prices for HRC for shipment in January, hiking them by $40/mt on average since the end of October.
FHS has increased its offers for non-skin SAE1006 and SS400 HRC to local customers to around $590-600/mt CIF, versus $555/mt CFR in late October, while skin-passed SAE1006 HRC coils for January have settled at $595-608/mt CIF, against around $560/mt CFR last month.
US sheet prices still climbing $1,000/nt HRC
Brazilian producers are negotiating with their South American clients in a reference price of $880/mt, against $855/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In October, Brazil exported 42,400 mt and imported 67,200 mt of HRC, against respectively 5,300 mt and 88,900 mt in September.
Ex-IndiaHRC prices have remained at $590-620/mt FOB, the same as last week, while local mills have persisted in holding back offers amid mounting pessimism in key overseas markets, focusing on local sales, resulting in the continuation of complete silence on the export front…
Most European HRC producers have been more positive in terms of their offers for domestic buyers, while interest in imported coils has been minimal in the region.
